Proof of growth and importance of cooperatives around the world is the step from United Nations Organization that defines 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC). With the slogan “Cooperative Enterprises build a better world”, the IYC has three main objectives:
– Increase public awareness about cooperatives and their contributions to socio-economic development and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals;
– Promote the formation and growth of co-operatives among individuals and institutions to address common economic needs and for socio-economic empowerment;
– Encourage Governments and regulatory bodies to establish policies, laws and regulation conducive to co-operative formation and growth.
The Coocafé is an encourager of YIC logo’s propagation. Their advertising, internal report and communicates are going to have, now, the IYC logo. The mark is formed for 7 people – indicant 7 cooperatives principles – working together to hold the cube, that represents many projects, objectives and aspirations that build the cooperatives. As the logo shows, the seven cooperative principles work in harmony to ensure that cooperates reaches the goals that, alone, certainly they wouldn’t do.
